Madonna ‘Donna’ Kashanian, 64, was taken by plainclothes officers from her home in New Orleans

A 64-year-old Iranian woman, who has lived in the US for 47 years, was detained by immigration agents on Sunday morning while gardening outside her home in New Orleans.

According to a witness, plainclothes officers in unmarked vehicles handcuffed Madonna “Donna” Kashanian and transported her to a Mississippi jail before transferring her to the South Louisiana Ice processing center in Basile, reports Nola.

Kashanian arrived in the US in 1978 on a student visa and later applied for asylum, citing fears of persecution due to her father’s ties to the US-backed Shah of Iran. Her asylum request was ultimately denied, but she was granted a stay of removal on the condition she comply with immigration requirements, a condition her family says she always met.

Democratic administrations actually deported more people than Republicans. But the difference is that Democrats do so with case by case consideration and by the book; Republicans, meanwhile, wants to do away with the bureaucracy and blanket deport anyone who have any iota of questionable immigration status. This is precisely what Trumpers want-- get rid of people they don’t like by doing away with the rules that hinder their desires.

Trumpers only see Trumpers as “good people.” if they could press a button and watch everyone around them who isn’t one die in agony for the schaudenfreude of it, they would.

That’s why they’re trying to turn empathy into a character deficit and slur.

This is what separates them from everyone else. I’m an extreme leftist, something some low information Americans incorrectly paint as just as extreme as the MAGA cult, when I want that MAGA cult to have access to Healthcare based on need, higher Ed based solely on merit, conditionless housing and social supports, while they want me dead, and preferably painfully.

I pity them because they were made by for profit media propaganda meant to divide and profit.

The really stupid thing is, this woman might have been pro-Trump, there are other minorities that are. Trump people are so short sighted.

to have access to Healthcare based on need, higher Ed based solely on merit,

Who will evaluate need and merit?

“Meritocracy” is the one word communists here in Russia use that I’ve learned to absolutely hate, they mean by that a hierarchical system where it’s administratively decided who behaved well and who didn’t.

See, that’s the problem with leftists, always trying to use contrasts to make their virtue signaling look better.

Most leftists are like “we haven’t yet invented a system, but we will compare an imagined one fulfilling all our desires to the worst real world ones”. And those who are inventing systems, are the least popular - cause such a thought experiment system will already be worse than one fulfilling all desires. Not talking sweet enough.

Doctors and academic performance records aka grades weighed by academics, not bloodsucking capitalist leeches.

Any metric used as a KPI stops being useful as a metric, have you heard that?

The very moment academics and such are going to decide on real power, you’ll have the right academics emerge, of “scientific communism professors” kind.

If they outline their methodology and outcomes, if science indicates an economic system will maximize wellbeing for the most individuals in a society, it should be our system based on the information available. And it should change if new data supercedes the old.

Capitalism has proven to be incompatible with democracy over time and detrimental to any social contract. It’s a “die alone” economic system on a planet we need to care for and live together on. We ain’t getting to mars, we’re killing the planet the human habitability of the world we came from and this was super easy baby just don’t shit where you sleep mode and we keep proving we can’t even do that.

I’ll never understand people that denegrate the scientific community. They and their predecessors are the reason you aren’t going to be dead by 30, why we’re even able to bitch on the internet right now. The scientific method and community have done more for humanity in 500 years than every theologen and diety mankind has ever been inspired to pull out of their ass.

Capitalism will end in the next 50 years, either by murder of it or the mass ecological suicide it causes. It’s pathetic how many people that are willing to end the species so they can pretend they’ll be rich the rich assholes living on the poors backs one day.

Why is it even a question? Would you rather live in a plague of nepobabies? Meritocracy isn’t some stretched definition or vague notion being chased.

It is both. No human can be entrusted evaluating merit for the “meritocracy” word to form, that is, to defined a hierarchy.

They don’t actually care about pissing money away. They enjoy good people getting tortured because they hate them and do not see them as people.

They do see them as people, but specifically bad people. A non-person would be beneath their notice. A bad person on the other hand, becomes the target of their wrath and cruelty and it is justified to do this to them because they are bad.

The Trumper cult will hate and kill at any cost. That’s their main MO, hatred and to inflict pain. They are 100% objectively bad people.

In a lot of situations there are just good people in bad situations, but no, these are, by any measure, simply bad (sub)humans. They are irredeemable sociopaths and a net negative on society.
