    Article II

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

The definition does not require murder of every member. It also specifies intent, not completion.

I argued with a guy that the genocide under Trump would be accelerated versus what was happening under Biden and likely under Harris. He more or less wrote that genocide is genocide.

Now, I understood that genocide had degrees and was the act of wiping a people out, even if in progress, but here I have learned that there are even weaker forms. To me, that weakens the claim of genocide overall, and we need some qualifiers or terms to help distinguish the different levels.

In the present thread, taking control over a larger portion of the West Bank than the ~60% the Israelis had since Camp David is “genocide.”
