I used to be a console gamer. Bo2 on the Xbox 360 was my favorite game of all time. I moved to csgo, once I got a pc.

My gripe with fps games on the deck is it doesn’t feel like a console fps, it feels like a pc game. I obviously understand why but I wish I could think of a way to change that. The controls just feel awful to me

Weak/no auto aim? Depends on the game you’re playing, but I imagine CSGO doesn’t have any. Maybe you could find a different shooter that accommodates joystick use?

I have to imagine that this is an aim-assistance scenario. CS does not have aim-assist in order to prevent abuse by M&K players. Most other games have toggles in the settings for contrller use.

You could always try one of the more precise deck aiming schemes like flick-stick+gyro.

Have you tried enabling gyro aiming? It makes a pretty big difference in FPS games for the smaller movements that are hard to get with a joystick.

Adjust your thumbstick deadzone if you haven’t yet, the default is super high I run mine at 2000 and it made them feel a lot more responsive.

I like to have gyro aim only when I touch the right track pad, playing through Halo MCC right now and it’s fantastic, especially using turrets with gyro. Thumbstick for general movement, track pad and gyro for combat.

We’re using the grunt party skull where you get the party sounds and streamers when you headshot them and I’m able to pretty consistently nail them after a few missions with that setup.

    Not using any auto aim

Depends on game I think, Splitgate played amazing and deck was my preferred choice to play because the controls, I usually prefer keyboard and mouse for fps. CSGO will never feel right without a keyboard and mouse imo.

Also depends on how good you get at fine tuning the controls, there is A LOT of settings and modifiers to fuck around with.

CSGO is particularly a difficult FPS with no aim assist or tools to make it easier for controller. And now that controller input is completely broke on CS2, this has become even harder. I’ve been trying to tweak a custom flick stick input with Gyro aim but I haven’t found anything close to an input style I like yet.

You can change the controls to your liking. There are a few presets like: trackpad as mouse, standard controller using joysticks, etc. And you can just select the one that matches your desired experience as closely as possible and then tweak it even further.

Also, there are tabs under the control selection screen to look at community control schemes and it will show how many collective hours are played under each scheme so you can be fairly well assured that it’s a good control scheme before you try it out.
