When someone says “With all due respect…”, they’ll inevitably follow it with an insult. In that case, the person is therefore also implying that the recipient is due NO respect since they’re insulting them. Boom, double-roast. Maybe obvious, but apparently not to me… with all due respect to me.

    Yeah in the case of all due respect it is used in formal situations to signal that the recipient that it isn’t supposed to take criticism personally. I also see it as an insult since you are pointing out the person is most likely going to take it personally.

    I prefer the Nick Fury approach.

    Nick Fury saying "I recognize the council has made a decidion, but seeing that it's a stupid ass decision, I have chosen to ignore it."
