On 14 October, #Microsoft will end support for #Win10.

This will turn hundreds of millions of computers that cannot upgrade to #Win11 into security risks and #eWaste.

Yours may be one of them!

But what if you could make your current one fast and secure again?

Well, they won’t get updates; that’s a security risk. They might not run Windows 11; that’s e-waste unless they switch to Linux (with KDE for preference).

With the number of times a Windows update has fucked up my computer I’m genuinely more concerned about Microsoft messing up my computer than any hacker.

It’s not a security risk to not get updates until there’s a known remote code execution exploit in the wild, and by that point it’ll be in the news and Microsoft will patch it anyway, like they did for Windows XP in 2017.

and Microsoft will patch it anyway

… Or not. That is the point of ending support: they are not obligated to anything like that.
