The mirror image distracts attackers, increasing the spellcaster’s Armour Class Armour Class by 3 per duplicate image. When the caster successfully evades an attack, one of the images disappears.
@anakin78z@lemmy.world is probably used to the DnD version. There you keep your normal AC but if you get hit by something you roll to see if it hits one of the mirror images or you. I think it even works with magic missile.
