    Stage 17: San Michele all’Adige – Bormio, 155 km (Wednesday 28, dep. 12:50-13:00, ETA 16:55-17:30)

    Another mountain stage, with 2 long climbs around the middle of the stage.

    Stage with high difficulties, 15 points to the winner.

    The 3 km rule applies for falls/incidents in the finish.

    Delays : 19% if ≤ 30 km/h; 21% if ≤ 34 km/h; 22% otherwise. Expected average speeds: 35 km/h ⇒ 58’58’‘, 37 km/h ⇒ 55’26’‘, 39 km/h ⇒ 52’14’'.

      really surprised houle was able to stay in the GC group and help derek gee all the way to the last climb… if frigo and houle stay in good form to support on stages 19 and 20… i have a good feeling!

        Perhaps he climbed the Mortirolo pass slower than he could have, in order to keep some energy for the easier part after the descent?
