Pocket had a strange history for me. When it came out, I thought it was the best thing ever! But after some time I realised I actually don’t use it. I just saved pages to bookmarks
Not to mention there is a third thing called Collections on mobile. It’s such a shitshow. Just make bookmarks better!!! Like, I am forced to peruse the fully expanded directory tree while saving and moving bookmarks on mobile? So hellish, I am dead, every time.
I should add that I use directories extensively… I just checked and I am at 22 full-screen-length scrolls from beginning to end - so, at least 250 folders. It doesn’t help that indentation levels are barely hinted at
I’m coming to the same conclusion. I have long migrated back to Instapaper (not related to Meta’s Instagram of anyone doesn’t know about it). And the only distinction saving to that vs bookmarks and raindrop, is that I save articles more often than not. And raindrop have a reader mode as well iirc.
And I don’t really go back to read all the articles I saved in instapaper that frequently. Might as well just drop that too, and just use raindrop (or linkwarden when I get around to trying Linux and self hosting).
