I recently created a Europe community on lemmy.dbzer0.com to act as an alternative to the Europe community on Feddit.org since that one has had some controversy and is becoming less viable for discussing current events in Europe, especially relating to Israel.

The new community allows much of the same content as on the old one but also allows news and discussions related to the conflict in Israel and disallows genocide apologia (can’t believe I have to advertise this as a feature). If that sounds like something you’re interested in I urge you to check out !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com

    What’s defined as genocide apologia?

Do the following cross the line?

    • Israel has a right to defend itself.
    • Hamas oppresses Gazans and is an obstacle to peace.
    • Hamas has repeatedly announced to want to repeat an October 7 style attack as soon as they are able to.
    • There have been protests going on for weeks in Gaza demanding Hamas to let the hostages go and give up power in Gaza (Hamas out!, Hamas barra barra!) to end the war.
    • One third of Gazans wanted to emigrate before the war started.
    • Serious and powerful people make arguments that the war in Gaza is not a genocide.

Would you consider Abu Mazen’s thesis to be genocide apologia?

Is this specific to Israel or are genocide of Armenians, Uyghurs, Rohingya, and others covered as well?

      Yes, you know this.

Is this specific to Israel or are genocide of Armenians, Uyghurs, Rohingya, and others covered as well?

You don’t care about them until its convenient to do so.
