It’s exceedingly functional! I have a similar one: main monitor for games, portrait monitor for discord/reading, and a third for videos/browser/misc.

Totally get the utility, it’s just the combo that does me in.

I’m running triple but it’s a 42"C4 OLED with twin 1920 X 1200 in portrait either side. I do similar, but it looks much much better.

That godawful generic gaming chair is the only thing that makes me angry here. Those things were designed by the devil.

I want this. Just build my main personal rig and a couple dedicated game servers into a single box. That would be rad as fuck. Especially if the box itself was climate controlled. Fuck, man… Maybe I’d just live in the box.

I have a smaller cabinet and thought it would be cool to put my gaming machine in a Sliger case and keep the cabinet next to my desk until the next time I had to actually use my laptop at the cabinet. Sounds like a jet compared to my gaming rig, so I decided it can continue to live in the basement. I’ll get a KVM for the servers or something

I mean maybe gaming is not the end goal for those types of people. Some people just like setting up and maintaining server hardware. One of my favorite things was maintaining a Team fortress classic dedicated server. It’s fun watching others have fun.

Yeah your joke was funny. When I worked in the data center I would see way more than that in a rack. From what I can tell it’s only one server in that rack the rest is 2 drive arrays, a network switch, Two patch panels, a monitor, and an UPS.

I would use this setup to browse lemmy, maybe watch a yotube video or two and emulate ps1 games.

I have a setup like that and don’t even play call of duty, I mostly just run my own streaming service for friends and family plus a cloud gaming VM for when I play while I poop
