Serious note I hate when ppl do this.

When my aunt had cancer she left me a message marked urgent so I’d listen to it while I was at work

I thought she was dying until I heard the message. “Get me some cigarettes on your way home”

    I was pissed.

Original sender is a comete twatwaffle.

I know I’m getting upset at a shitty picture, but driving distractions are a dick move

That’s essentially what this is except it auto enabled when it detects you’re driving and auto disables afterwards.

It can also be set to only send the notification to favorite contacts or none at all.

My is set to only favorites so people not in favorites don’t even know the notification is delayed. This person’s silly behavior would get them removed from that list.

If they are really annoying, I will disable notifications for the contact regardless of any settings.

A smart phone only controls oneself if they allow it.

Audio book goes on. Phone goes under the books on my front seat and doesn’t come out… There is literally nothing so important it can’t wait 20-30 minutes for me to get where I’m going.

People need to learn that it’s okay to not be available 24/7

For about 10 years now my phone has been on do not disturb. Not just while I’m driving, but just always. The only exception to the DND is my mom, who until about a month ago when she passed, I was caregiving for, and genuinely needed to be able to get her calls regardless of what was going on. I don’t get notifications for anything, and I don’t see calls when they’re actually happening. Need me, send a text and I’ll see the little thing in the notification shade maybe. Lol.

Because I’m not caregiving for my mom anymore, I’m on the job hunt and have had to turn do not disturb off so if I get a call for an interview I can answer it. I hate it so much. Constant scam/spam calls, telemarketers, et cetera. It suuuucks. Obviously, it’s not the worst thing about all this, but it certainly doesn’t help matters

That’s another big one. My phone goes on DND from 10PM every night to 8AM. Only exceptions are my wife and parents. Glad to say I’ve carefully curated who gets my phone number and I never answer for unknowns, for the ones that get though, my provider and phone assistant screen the rest.

Even work texts, I don’t answer them until I’m ready. Timely response does not mean immediate. My time is mine, not my job’s. They’re buying my time from me to do work, not the other way around.

Yeah, if you have dependents, DND is a no-go. This includes if you have children.

These Garfield Minus Garfield cartoons keep on getting more and more relevant. It’s like they read my mind!
