For anyone interested, the symbol is metal, and pops off to become an axe that he uses to dismember people. (But not kill them!)
There’s also a section of the comic showing him in older costumes that are more traditional but with things like the og comics outfit and fake fangs that paralyzed thugs.
The actual story is pretty neat. But yeah, that symbol needs to never be used again.
(Also his ears can rotate forward and stab people in the eyes. (But not kill them!))
When you say it pops off and becomes an axe… is this like a wafer-thin flexible piece of metal attached to his chest that stiffens and becomes an axe-shaped blade, or has he got a big heavy axe head attached to his chest all the time?
Because if it’s the latter, that’s just a bit silly, but if it’s the former, that doesn’t even make a lick of goddamn sense. An axe is useful because of all the weight in the head. Anything without that weight would just be a huge pizza slicer.
He’s nobody. He just some kid that had his father murdered while at a zoo. He’s dirt poor. Still Bruce Wayne tho. Joker is the mega billionaire, but he’s only teased. Black Mask is the villian .
He’s a working man batman. It’s actually a good take on the characters. But everything has to be absolute so it veers into 90’s extreme too much.
right, but it seems like they have some specific “edgy side universe” instead of this being the newest reboot of batman.
great I still have to double check what happened to Damien and Nightwing, and who the current batman is and how/why. Fucking DC reboots man. Just go bankrupt already or keep the canon canon.
Or , trap the characters in a timeframe (eg, 50s-80s) and have everything be a side story. 2026’s batman series takes place in 1969 with silver age batman, 2027’s batman series takes place in the 80s, etc etc.
EDIT : oh fuck it. I have no idea what the fuck happened with Damien, nor bruce. I tried to read wikipedia, and ran up dry. I’ll read it if someone explains it, but I’m not researching it anymore.

That makes even less sense, since the original logo was very axe shaped, but this one just looks like a rectangle.
The axe thing could legit be cool, if the logo didn’t look like dog shit to accommodate it
Just take the original logo and add some edges to the wings. Am I dumb, or does this look infinitely better than that stupid spiky rectangle? I’m sure someone else can do it better job, I did the best I could on my phone
All I can see in your picture is a vampire mouth.
Still better than the brick.
who is this batman? Jean Paul? Damien Wayne?

The Absolute series is a different continuation, don’t worry. Pretty much DCs answer to Marvels Ultimate line.
