2nd time ever trying a straight razor, much less blood this go around since I am sorta figuring out how to hold the razor and I stuck to shaving just cheeks and a bit of neck.

    Wed 14 May 2025

    • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BOAR (31 mm × 57 mm bleached boar)
    • Razor: Koraat – r/Wetshaving exclusive Moarteen (15/16", full hollow, carbon steel)
    • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. – Mountain Man
    • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. – Mountain Man
    • Fragrance: Creed – Silver Mountain Water

    Happy Moarteen day 🎉.

About a month ago, these glittery green razors started landing in their dens and it’s interesting what happened: exactly half of the razors never showed up in an SOTD post. Cold feet? Secret shaves? Nobody knows.

Either way, lovely shave with the sub exclusive hardware, and Mountain Man/Silver Mountain Water is a very enjoyable placeholder until the sub exclusive I, Rich Moose can complete the colour-coordinated 100% sub exclusive SOTD.

Is everyone accouted for? Can we exclude accidental beheadings?

    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - Mille Chypre - Soap
    • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles - Literal Lilac - Aftershave

I’m not sure of the reason, but of the chypres I have tried, they have a slight soda-like element to them. Anyway, I got a really good shave this morning. Im really pleased how pleasant this Literal Lilac.

My fourth shave with Moarteen went relatively well all things considered. No nicks, slices, or blood. Two passes then a finishing ATG pass with the Legacy to get as close a finish as I wanted. Slowly but surely the technique is coming along!

    SV is really really good

first time I used it and the lather is easily on par with most other soaps I have. A bit drying on the skin, but once I rinsed off properly and applied the balm it was fine. Moarteen for the theme, Dirtyver because it’s a green scent, lemon lime balm because the packaging is green

A pretty decent and close shave from this very nice razor.

It’s hard to believe I’ve used a straight razor 18 times already.
