Unlike Ryujinx they should try to have redundancies in case of Team members leaving and be willing to boot and ostracize members who attempt to sabotage the project. The other piece would be to either develop from regions where Nintendo has no legal leverage, or try to stay safe with cleanroom and PR techniques (losing battle since the USA is crooked when it comes to IP and freedom).
True but I dare say it was quickly followed with an “or else”. We do know about Nintendo’s mafia, after all so only offering the nice hand feels very off.
And what’s gonna keep this one from getting taken down by Nintendo?
The time needed to build a lawsuit, usually about six to ten months
I would guess that it would be forced to be taken down immediately, and then litigation would determine whether it can be put back up.

Also hey it’s the other NEO of Lemmy.
hopefully they don’t start a patreon like the other devs.
Is there a Patreon with crypto? Lol
Exactly.
Same thing that’s kept all the other emulators from being taken down: not being illegal.
What was illegal about ryujinx?
Nintendo decided it was. Nothing else, to my knowledge.
Nah, Nintendo decided to offer the dev money so he stops working on it.

it was less illegal and more the dev took money to quit it.
Was Ryujinx taken down?
I got it via Emudeck and just a few days ago got another update. So I guess… No?
It’s probably the GreenDev fork
Totally possible, I am not very deep into Switch emulator lore.
