TLDR: The collective agreement was extended until May 22 after the return to work order. Negotiations for a new collective agreement are ongoing, but could just end in a strike again.

Yeah… Per the article, the office of the Labour Minister is investigating so maybe they will intervene to improve funding. I know a postie and they really deserve better conditions.

They don’t get paid during the strike either, eh? It is crazy they have to fight this hard but I’m 100% with them.

Unions have strike funds to pay those participating in the strike. It’s not the full amount though, and it’s not like they’re paid enough these days.

If you’re near a picket line it’s worth bringing some treats to the strikers. The sweet taste of solidarity helps.

Poor wording - the previous work stoppage was a lockout initiated by Canada Post. That ended without resolving the contract dispute, and now the union is ready to strike.
