FYI, this is just default Reddit behaviour. If you login with a Google account (which I presume many do as it’s easy) If you register a new account, Reddit gives you a username in that format
Not only Google. It just generates a name for you when you register that you can use if you want. I had some weird usernames like that because I wanted to have at least a bit of privacy. I just used the one it gave me.
I just tried it and after verifying my 10minutemail email address it created the following username for me: https://i.imgur.com/Ap8qiGN.png
Clicking the icon next to the username gives me these:
