I’ve seen many threads suggesting products but they often don’t mention FOSS projects, which should always be preferred to corporate software. With FOSS you are already boycotting capitalism, on either side. Free and Open Source ignores borders and shouldn’t be categorized in nationalist terms, no matter where some of the maintainers happen to live.
@EySkibidiBabBab Ok but think about it - if we, the users, don’t do the marketing for our favorite open-source systems, then some other big VC funded company will and they will promote their own monopoly. Element is making the whole matrix environment too centralized, it’s like Google for web browsers, fiddling with web standards. When you say “I sent you a message on matrix” a couple of times, they will learn. I know, I’ve done it, it’s not that difficult. It’s up to us.
