Summary

27 religious organizations are suing the Trump administration over its decision to allow ICE arrests at places of worship, reversing longstanding policy.

The lawsuit argues that detaining immigrants in churches violates the First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Faith leaders say the policy has led to decreased attendance at worship services and social programs.

They seek a permanent injunction blocking immigration enforcement at religious sites, unless agents have a judicial warrant or are operating under “exigent circumstances.”

Probably because it’s harder to get standing I’m a general sense. But something impacting their Church operations gives them standing to sue.

You need to prove some kind of harm to yourself if you don’t want your lawsuit immediately tossed.

The republicans didn’t seem to have any problems doing just that for student loans forgiveness

And before we get into the whataboutism, I’m more showing that we have arrived and past that precedent already. Especially with this supreme court.
