The left wasn’t tricked, we’re just sick of being taken for granted and having our concerns blatantly ignored. Your failure to make concessions and compromises with your own base is shooting yourself in the foot.
This is why the left consistently loses and never gets legislation passed. Democrats could explain there aren’t enough votes in Congress for them to get what they want but they aren’t smart enough to win on their own so how can they understand even such a simple concept.
