This is a character I used to draw back in high school. I knew a guy who was literally skin stretched across bones who served as the model. Me.

I can only hope your current circumstances are an improvement, because that doesn’t look remotely comfortable. Nice hatching, though.

It was a long struggle of eating 6,000 calories a day for 15 years but after I turned 30 I managed to gain 50 lb in 3 years. It’s been about two decades since then and now I’m in the market to lose 25 lb. But even now I feel so much healthier than I did between the ages of 15 and 33.

Like if I want to go do something I can just go do it. I’m not in a calorie preservation mode and I have the energy to do stuff. Literally life-changing.

Dude… While I’m very glad to hear you’re doing better… 6000 calories / day is twice what heavily active infantry in cold weather conditions typically need. Have you considered getting checked for intestinal parasites?

It was just a hyper metabolism. I often compared it to what an Olympic athlete eats in a day. Every time I walked into a new doctor’s office to figure out what was wrong, they would test me for HIV drugs and thyroid conditions. They got very old very quick. Every one of them thought they knew the cause and it turned out none of them did. But I turned 30 and it all worked out.

I have been and am currently negative for all tested parasites. But I also know that they aren’t testing me for Toxoplasmosis. Which I’m pretty sure I have because of my extensive work with feral cats. But they haven’t tested for that. And it doesn’t affect weight.

I just got back to drawing within the last couple weeks. I felt the craving. It’s caused more problems for my wife. She never really saw me draw for the last 15 years she has known me. It just added to the list of things I could casually do.
