    I understand Germany tightening their borders, but this is the wrong reasoning and wrong approach. They’ll regret it in ten years time.

      It’s kind of sad. If the Schengen agreement ends up collapsing, it would severely undermine the foundation of the entire European project and could potentially lead to the eventual demise of the EU as a whole. The EU knows this and they are desperate to keep borders open. But it’s just not going to happen, at least not until the external borders are dealt with.
