You make it sound like bad to have a family gang. It has so many uses, great for ilegal stuff, great for polítics, great for business, it is all benefits of controlling up to certain point a large group of people and having a strong link with them.

I don’t think moms realize this can go the other way. When I was a kid I learned to just never mention any girl’s name, regardless of the reason.
My mom still does this … about a girl I went out with in 1987 … who went back to Belgium afterwards.
