Why YSK is to prevent your shoes from coming untied, creating a tripping hazard (plus it looks better).

i tie my laces the fancy pants way Kirby Allison demonstrated on his you tube channel. sorry im new here and dont know how to link things get. the basics are instead of one time around the loop you go twice around and then proceed as usual. since i started doing this my laces have never come untied by themselves. to release the knot just pull both tails at the same time

Lemmy seems to support markdown. You can link things by putting the text between square brackets and link between parentheses, what I actually put above was [markdown](https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax#links)

I just do the former but tie the bows together to “lock” the instant “pull to untie” feature of the knot, then treat them like slip-ons. The “lock” don’t bind so they’re not hard to remove if I have to.

I just make them loose enough to be able to slip on/off with minimal hand use but fit enough that they won’t come off in normal circumstances.

I can tie a noose a little faster than my shoes so I guess I’m just bad at tying shoes.

I’ve never even heard of the way that he’s calling wrong. I’ve always tied my shoes with the bow going across the shoe.
