At least 11 people, including children, have been killed in an Israeli attack on the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, it has been reported.

The Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that the strike hit a playground frequently visited by displaced children.

Most of those killed were children, the news agency reported with several people also wounded in the attack

One eyewitness described the situation as a “horrific scene of children torn apart”.

The latest data from Unicef said that one child in Gaza is killed or injured every 10 minutes and further said that at least 70 children are injured every day during the Israeli bombardment.

Unfortunately we the people keep promoting the most narcissistic, sociopathic people to “leadership” positions. This is in all nations and the consequences of this are all over the place throughout all history yet few are talking about it.

It blows my mind that there are people on here that are cool with doing an airstrike on a playground full of orphans. Many (most?) of which already had to witness the same happening to their parents.

I’m sorry but there is zero justification for that. None. Your argument is invalid.

Yea, their argument boils down to “well Hamas so they deserve it, it’s their own fault”. Incredibly apathetic and cruel. Tbf people who think like that are also victims of something truly fucked up in their lives, but they are wrong and Israel is wrong to do this. Full stop.

        • Every Palestinian is Hamas.
        • Every hole in the ground is a Hamas Tunnel.
        • Every critic of Israel is pro-Hamas.

Those 3 sentences are the entire foundation of Israeli Propaganda.

There is not a single “argument” maybe by the Israeli Government, the IDF, hasbara astroturfers or genocide-excusing useful idiots that doesn’t relly on at least one of those, especially the first.

The way things sit currently, “Palestine” is more like a large native american reservation than a country, maybe a reservation in 1885 when they were still actively, occasionally, fighting the government and the army would come by sometimes and kill a bunch.

It was not a playground. It was training facilities for terrorists. Also it was cloudy so they maybe couldn’t see so clearly or mistook the children for hamas fighters. I am sure they have some heartfelt apologises to share and that they will investigate themselves and publish the results for full transparency

Hamas has a 3% child casualty rate on October 7 (including all israeli friendly fire)

Israel has a 40% child casualty rate since October 7

It would be great if the Hamas child casualty was even lower but one of these is clearly not like the other.

I in no way deny or defend the patently obvious genocide being committed by Israel.

But I refuse to ignore the slaughter committed by HAMAS.

Much like the IRA, a just cause does not justify any means. Omagh was wrong. The 7th of October was wrong. Murderes of innocents and children.

Acknowledgement of that didn’t lessen the murder and brutality of the UK or Israel. State sanctioned oppression, murder and genocide.

              Both are wrong. Downvote away.

            Hamas ≠ Palestinians

Hamas may target Israeli civilians in their war against the IDF, and that is fucking evil, but Palestinian civilians are just trying to survive. The IDF kills orders of magnitude more Palestinian civilians in their war against Hamas, and that is orders of magnitude more evil.

Expecting Palestinian civilians, half of which are children, and all of which are currently experiencing a man-made famine, to lead the charge against Hamas or die in the crossfire is fucking deranged.

What they are currently doing is still sending unguided rockets towards Israel, rockets that have an accuracy measured in kilometers and can thus only be used as terror weapons. Is Israel just supposed to eat those? Their defenses aren’t perfect and every single alert means that people have to interrupt whatever they are doing and rush into shelter within seconds.

slaughter of tens of thousands of Palestinian children

Because every single death in Gaza is either that of a child or a woman. What a ridiculous claim. Here’s another reminder that the only numbers we have from Gaza are those reported by Hamas themselves. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t even trust them as far as I can throw them.

There are legitimate forms of resistance, both armed and unarmed. Neither Hamas nor any other militant Palestinian organization has ever focused on legitimate resistance. It’s always been terrorism. The difference between Israel and its enemies is that civilian casualties are an unintended side-effect to Israel, one which they are trying to minimize through all sorts of measures, whereas for Palestinian organizations, it’s the main goal. Had the October 7 attacks limited themselves to military targets like border fortifications and command centers only, that would have been legitimate armed resistance. But they did not, they only did this in order to enable the murder, rape and abduction of civilians.

This is so fucking disgusting. There is no way the IDF doesn’t have precision munitions or know what they are targeting. Also, why the fuck even look to bomb a refugee camp? Why bomb a fucking playground inside a refugee camp? How can any civil person do that to children, regardless of their ethnicity? If the goal is to rid the area of Hamas, all they do is create more of them by doing this shit.

I’m sorry, I was willing to give the IDF the benefit of the doubt, but after other instances of a similar type, there is no doubt that this and other attacks on innocent children are deliberate. This was a playground. This was a refugee camp. These were children… Meanwhile, I’ll watch as many of the world’s governments shake their fists in the air at Israel, and do nothing more to stop any of this.
