Ukraine's counter-offensive against Russian forces is going more slowly than some expected but it remains too early to draw conclusions about Kyiv's prospects for battlefield gains, a senior Pentagon official said on Friday.

    But the Counter Offensive hasn’t started in real anger yet.

    Ukraine forces are still conducting counter battery and creating toeholds in the defence lines where they can use as a spring board for the actual breakthrough.

    They’re trying to get the Russians to commit their reserves across many parts of the front, I image. Then when they do start their offensive in force they’ll be able to get some immediate momentum.

      Yeah, Ukraine has well-equipped brigades ready to roll once they find a weakness. Their artillery/MLRS destruction rate has been good.

    Unfortunately the russians spend a lot of time mining and digging trenches. So it is slow going for now
