My god that’s a steep price for a 36 year old PG. Celtics want to win it all this year.

I’m not a fan of the changes by the Celtics. It doesn’t look like an upgrade. We’ll just have to see how it plays out.

That’s a haul in total for Portland though for Dame.

I really liked the Smart for Porzingis move. I think that’s a big upgrade.

I hate this. I wouldn’t have done Rob straight up (ignoring salaries). Holliday is good, and Rob has health concerns. But Rob is electric the way he uses his length on defense, has good tools between his verticality at the rim and fantastic vision and passing anywhere on the court, and should have been a core piece for a while.

Spacing is going to be huge for the Celts now. Everyone up and down the starting lineup can shoot. Defensively the back court is a lockdown. But unless Al can put up 30+ mins a game the front court will be weak to strong bigs.

Bench got a little thinner without Grant and Malcolm, but Pritchard is hungry and now has his chance to shine with extra minutes. Hauser has yet one more season under his belt, I have high hopes that he will continue his great play from last year. But no doubt our bench will be tested this year.

As much as I love Smart, his playoff shooting wasn’t much better. But at least Jrue can contribute on offense in other ways and the Celts still has four other options now for outside shooting.

Too much was being expected of Jrue on the Bucks. They wanted him to create and facilitate off the dribble when he’s really a shooting guard. I think if you take a lot of that perimeter scoring off of his plate, he’ll be a lot more efficient with the looks he gets.
