Obligatory European recommendation for a clipper lighter; the unparalleled joint smoking lighter.

You can refill them, you can replace the flint, you can take the strike wheel out and use it as a pokey.

The base of the lighter is a perfect tamper for a bowl, iirc it works better to light bongs also (less likely to burn your fingers compared to a bic)

There are constantly new designs for them, you can get metal sleeves for them.

Me and a friend have got a thing going where 8 years ago he accidentally pocketed one that I’d found, and it’s been in common use since, obviously having had the flint replaced and the gas refilled.

I’m American and even I know Clipper is the king. Nice explanation of all the little perks.

That being said, we get a ton of knockoffs here, and a lot of times they won’t actually refill. Then again, Bics can’t refill anyway.

Tangentially related, OCB papers are also the best and we also get a lot of knockoffs of those.

I spend extra for the bic with the button and little thingy that looks like a candle lighter. It costs more money and I don’t give a fuck. Love that shit.

Maybe if you buy a nice, more expensive one, e.g., a Zippo, you are more careful and keep track of it better? Just a thought.

This. I was always losing bics but my wife got me a Zippo and engraved a picture my kid drew on it. It will stay with me until I die. Then my kids can toke up with it.

I can relate. My Zippo does not have a design as fancy as yours, but I bought mine on a vacation abroad and because of that it is special to me. Also, the sound a Zippo makes when opening, igniting, and closing it don’t get old to me :)

Zippos do have a great tactile feel. Almost like a fidget spinner. I’m terrible with keeping track of lighters so I don’t have one though.

The shitty free lighters they give at smoke shop. Bics are nice, but I’ve already got a million of the cheapies. I have a few zippos too that I love but sometimes I’ll lose interest in maintaining them for months at a time. The grill lighters are 🐐 though.

i use a zippo, sometimes a spare bic is good if someone asks to use your lighter and you don t wanna hand your custom painted fresh as fuck zippo (everyone steals lighters)
