Scott Hall is the first person to plead guilty in the 19 defendant case. First to flip.

What was this guy’s role in the whole thing? I see some of the charges that he pled guilty to, but just wondering what he actually did.

Edit: From the indictment it mentions that he aided, abetted, and encouraged employees of Sullivan Strickler LLC in accessing election equipment for the purpose of committing theft of voter data.

I wonder how quickly the other defendants will act, and what will they do?

Will we see a domino effect of flips to guilty pleas?

Turns out they’re flipping votes after all!

…or something like that. I don’t know. I tried to be witty with it but I need more coffee

At a certain point, they won’t need anyone else to flip. And I can guarantee that is a big part of the DOJ’s pressure on the defendants. Because the first to flip gets the best treatment, then every flip after that is able to offer less and less “new” info. And at a certain point, they’ll just stop offering deals altogether, because their case is already tight enough.

Like getting one person to squeal is great. The next two or three are good. After that, it’s just unnecessary because you already have what you need. So it’s a sort of Prisoner’s Dilemma, where each subsequent person is helped less and less by squealing. And at a certain point, squealing just won’t help you at all, or may even hurt your defense if they’ve stopped offering deals and your testimony incriminates you.

Yeah, but this guy probably never even talked to Trump. He doesn’t have a lot of useful information compared to someone like Mark Meadows. Hopefully it’ll encourage the others to flip.

But he probably did talk to Powell, who talked to Trump. Powell is batshit crazy, but she might be smart enough to know that flipping on Trump might save her.

Powell is batshit. I don’t even know if she’d be used as a witness if she did flip.

        So it’s a sort of Prisoner’s Dilemma

If by “a sort of” you mean “exactly a,” then sure!

If it includes being barred from running for or holding any federal or state office for the rest of his life, I’m fine with that.

I empathize, but this fucker really needs to go to jail or others will try the same.

Do I think he will go to jail? I’m skeptical. But this is what needs to happen.
