This torture method is a bit of a stretch…
This was actually the story behind another torture device: The Scavneger’s Daughter. The story I remember was that of a killer who was too large to break on the rack. So if they couldn’t stretch him out, the creator instead thought to make him small.
Handing out Sirs and Lady’s to the nobles of the land for inventing new torture devices.
How crappy humans are without democracy, checks, balances, and systemic transparency.

Edit: they still find the cartoon funny after being primed with the information that “Gumby” is a claymation character.
